Track your Wix sales server-side, without counting them twice
Published on by the Oriva team.
If you connected Meta in Wix's marketing integrations, or installed the TikTok Ads app from the Wix App Market, Wix already sends your purchases to those platforms: for them, you probably do not need Oriva. For Google Ads, Wix gives you the Google tag and an event manager; for ChatGPT Ads, you find third-party app pixels. Oriva sends both from its servers, with a log that says, for each sale, where it went and why a send failed. If you install the app while Wix already sends your purchases, tick the box “Wix already sends purchases” on your Meta or TikTok destination: without it, the same sale may be counted twice.
What does Wix already send?
Four platforms, and for each one what Wix offers natively and what the Oriva app does:
| What Wix offers | What Oriva does | |
|---|---|---|
| Meta | The “Meta Pixel & CAPI” integration, after a Facebook connection: according to Wix, “all events are sent automatically through the server and browser”. The site must be on a paid plan, with a connected domain verified on Facebook. | Sends purchases, leads and sign-ups from Oriva's servers. |
| TikTok | The “TikTok Ads” app from the Wix App Market: the TikTok pixel and the Events API, after connecting your account and your Business Center. | The same send from Oriva's servers, with the delivery log. |
| Google Ads | The Google tag, the event manager (“Event Manager”) and Google Tag Manager. | Sent from Oriva's servers, through Google's Data Manager API. |
| ChatGPT Ads | Third-party app pixels on the Wix App Market. | Sent from Oriva's servers, through OpenAI's conversions API. |
So, what is Oriva for on Wix?
- Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads from a server. Wix gives you the Google tag and the event manager for Google Ads; Oriva sends the sale from its servers.
- One place for the four platforms, with a log. Each send, its response, and the reason when it fails.
- Consent respected by construction. Wix only loads Oriva's script if the visitor has accepted advertising cookies. Without consent, nothing is tracked and nothing is sent to the platforms.
For Meta and TikTok, if you already have Wix's integrations, Oriva sends the same thing. The interest is then the log, and the only real question is the one about duplicates, just below.
Why can a sale be counted twice?
Meta and TikTok only merge two copies of the same purchase if they carry the same event name and the same ID (the detail is in the guide on deduplication). Oriva sends the purchase with the Wix order number. Wix's help pages, read on October 10, 2026, do not say which ID the native integration uses: so we cannot say the two match, and it is safer to assume they do not.
Wix itself warns about a neighbouring case: adding the Meta pixel by hand and through the marketing integrations “can cause tracking conflicts and duplicate events”.
Box unticked
- Wix sends the purchase
- Oriva sends the same purchase
Counted twice
Box ticked
- Wix sends the purchase
- Oriva does not send it again
Counted once
Two ways to avoid it, your choice:
- Keep Wix's send for purchases, and tick the box “Wix already sends purchases to Meta: do not send them again from Oriva” (or “to TikTok”) on your destination. Purchases no longer go from Oriva to that platform; leads, sign-ups and the rest go out as before. The box only appears on a domain linked to the Wix app.
- Let Oriva send, and disconnect Meta in Wix. Wix no longer allows it once a campaign has been created with Facebook Ads (“It is not possible to disconnect this pixel if you have already created a campaign”), warns that it can affect your running campaigns, and that if you disconnect from Facebook, events may still be sent. The box is therefore usually the simple route.
How do I install Oriva on Wix?
- Install the app from the Wix App Market, on the site to track.
- Create your Oriva account from the app, in one click (or link an account you already have). No DNS change, no code to paste.
- Connect a platform in Oriva: Meta, TikTok, Google Ads or ChatGPT Ads. Nothing is sent until a platform is connected: the app tracks, Oriva delivers.
- If Wix already sends your purchases to Meta or TikTok, tick the box from the previous section on the destination.
The detail of each step is on the Oriva on Wix page.
What this looks like on a real Wix site
A Wix store, one of our customers, installed the Oriva app from the Wix App Market. Here is what Oriva collected between October 6 and 9, 2026, four days. It is what the app sees, not an advertising result.
- Distinct visitors161
- Added an item to the cart60 (37%)
- Started a checkout51 (32%)
- Bought34 (21%)
| Purchases | 44 purchases by 34 visitors |
|---|---|
| Purchase amount | €679.24, about €15.44 per purchase |
| Purchases tied to a source | 11 out of 44: 10 from an e-mail campaign, 1 from chatgpt.com |
Two things to know when reading them:
- Oriva only sees the visitors who accepted advertising cookies. The store's real total is higher.
- Only 11 purchases out of 44 are tied to a source. The others come from visitors with no campaign parameter, which tracking cannot attribute.
What the app does not do
- It does not send the buyer's e-mail or phone number. Wix's purchase event does not carry them. Matching to the ad relies on the click ID and the platforms' cookies.
- It does not trigger affiliate postbacks. A postback only goes out for a sale sent by your server; if you pay affiliates, also send your sales through the server API.
- It does not replace the cookie banner. Your site must show one (Wix's own is enough).
Who does not need Oriva on Wix?
- You only advertise on Meta, TikTok, or both, and you connected their Wix integrations. Wix already sends your purchases. Adding Oriva only gives you the log.
- You do not run paid advertising. There is no platform to feed.
- You already have a server Google Tag Manager container running, and someone to maintain it. Oriva does the same without a container, but switching tools has a cost.
