Getting started
What is Oriva, in one sentence?
Oriva captures the ad clicks and sales of your site, then sends each sale to Meta, TikTok, Google Ads and ChatGPT Ads from our servers, so the platforms can optimise on the sales your visitors' browsers don't show them. You see what went out and what each platform answered.
How long does it take to set up?
Four steps: connect your domain, add the tracking code, start the trial, add a first destination. The code and the forms take a few minutes. The longest part is DNS: your domain host has to apply the two records, which is up to them. The setup guide tells you where to click at the most common hosts.
Do I need a developer?
Not for Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Webflow, Wix or Google Tag Manager: the setup guide gives the steps for your tool, and a prompt to paste into your AI assistant if your site is built with one. You do need one to send sales from your own server (the API), and Google Ads is the most technical of the four platforms to set up: it has its step-by-step guide.
What about Shopify?
Shopify has its own FAQ: the pixel that replaces the scripts of the order confirmation page, installation, consent, uninstalling. See the Shopify FAQ
What Oriva tracks
Which events are tracked?
Page views, product views, add-to-cart, checkout starts, purchases, leads, sign-ups, subscriptions and trials, and the events you define yourself. Purchases, leads, sign-ups, subscriptions, trials and your custom events become conversions sent to the platforms. Add-to-cart and checkout starts only go out if you tick the box provided, for Meta, TikTok and ChatGPT Ads.
What data goes to the platforms, and what does Oriva keep?
Depending on the platform: the amount, the currency, the order reference, the ad click identifier and, if your site knows them, the email and phone number, always hashed (an irreversible fingerprint, never in the clear). Meta and TikTok also require the IP address and browser type.
On Oriva's side, the email and phone number are hashed before they are written. The IP address and browser are erased after 90 days.
The platforms
Which platforms are supported?
Meta (Conversions API), TikTok (Events API), Google Ads, ChatGPT Ads, and an affiliate postback for affiliate networks. Each has its own page with its setup guide: all integrations.
I already have a Meta or TikTok pixel on my site. Will a sale be counted twice?
It can be, if the pixel and Oriva send the same sale with two different identifiers: the platform then can't tell it is the same one. For it to merge them, both must send the same event identifier, typically the order number.
The Health tab of your account detects the case (the same order seen in the browser and on the server, or the cookie of a pixel already there) and tells you what to check.
What is the delivery log for, and what happens when a send fails?
For each sale it shows which platform it went to, the status and what the platform answered, with the error explained in plain words in French or English depending on your account.
A temporary failure is retried automatically (after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours, then 12 hours, 5 attempts in all). A permanent failure is sent again by hand with the Resend button, once the cause is fixed. A sale is never sent twice to the same destination.
Pricing and trial
How does the free trial work?
14 days, with a card asked at the start, and nothing is charged before the end. We write to you 2 days before. The subscription is monthly, with no commitment. If a partner recommended Oriva to you, the trial lasts 21 days.
What happens when the trial ends, or if I cancel?
Collection never stops: your visits and your sales keep being recorded. What stops is sending to the platforms. Sales received during that pause are not sent again afterwards. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page.
And if I go over the volume of my plan?
Oriva never cuts collection. We write to you when you reach your monthly volume, then when you clearly exceed it.
If your volume stays far beyond your plan without you adjusting it, sending to the platforms can pause until the next month or until you move to the next plan. Collection always continues.
What are the plans?
Starter, €79 / $79 / £79 a month: 100,000 events a month, 1 domain, 3 destinations, 30 days of history. Pro, €199 / $199 / £199: 1,000,000 events, 5 domains, unlimited destinations, 13 months of history. Agency, €499 / $499 / £499: 5,000,000 events, 20 domains, 13 months of history. The amounts are the same in euros, dollars and pounds; you are shown the currency of your country. Every detail is on the pricing page.
Data and privacy
Where is my data, and how long is it kept?
In the European Union: the database and the queue (Supabase, Upstash) are hosted there, the site runs at Vercel in Frankfurt, and payments go through Stripe in Ireland.
The IP address and browser are erased after 90 days, and your sales history is kept for 30 days (Starter and trial) or 13 months (Pro and Agency). The full list is in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account, or a visitor's data?
Your account: Account, then "Delete my account". It cancels the subscription and erases your data. A visitor who asks: the erasure form in the domain's Settings, by visitor identifier or by email.
One limit to know: what has already gone to Meta, TikTok, Google Ads or ChatGPT Ads cannot be recalled by Oriva.
Is Oriva GDPR compliant?
Oriva is built for it: hosting in Europe, data hashed before it is written, nothing personal sent to the platforms without advertising consent, limited retention. But the cookie banner and informing your visitors stay on your side. The GDPR page details who does what.
It doesn't work
My events don't arrive.
In order: is your domain "connected" (Health tab)? Is the tracking code on every page? Is an ad blocker or a cookie banner stopping it from loading? The Health tab also lists the refusals of the last 7 days, for example an event sent from a domain other than yours.
If you are still stuck, write to us from the Help page: it sends the state of your installation with your question.
A platform shows an error.
Open the delivery log: the error is explained there with what to fix, most often the access token (expired, or without the right permissions). Edit the destination without deleting it, then use "Test this destination": the test goes through the same path as a real send, without writing a fake sale.
How do I reach support?
From the Help page of your account: the form sends your question with the context (domain, setup step, last error). Otherwise by email to contact@orivaforge.com. We answer within one working day. All the ways to write to us
