The Meta and TikTok algorithms optimize on the conversions they receive. When an ad blocker or a cookie restriction stops the pixel from reporting a sale, the platform learns nothing about that buyer and keeps spending on the wrong profiles. According to Meta, advertisers who send their web events through the Conversions API get a cost per result 17.8% lower on average.
